Swing Dogs
Backup leaders typically run in the swing position. Swing dogs often rotate out with leaders in order to give leaders a change of pace. Swing dogs help the leaders by maintaining a very serious focus and helping set a strong momentum in the front of the team. Young leaders learning the leader role run in swing and typically pick up voice commands quickly. The swing position is also referred to as “point” in other areas of the world.
